And now for something a little different . . .
Expanding the EACTN horizon, virtually – a strategic discussion with members (Jim Strasser)
Please join us in a Zoom discussion that focuses on both the expansion and diversification of the current EACTN social network offer over the next years and decades.
Your EACTN social club charter is to provide activity/social contact to enrich our members’ retirement years. This fellowship has been successfully built and executed over the past thirty-five years by providing strong “in-person” focus on activity (golf, walks and hikes), entertainment (theatre, bridge, opera, cruises), social events (lunches, dinners) and intellectual stimulation (facility tours, presentations). Over the past three COVID years we have replaced the loss of in-person social networking with the use of readily available/accessible on-line “virtual” networking. Though borne out of COVID isolation, these virtual offerings provide us a strategic opportunity to both expand and extend the life of our EACTN social network.
Expanding the EACTN virtual offering is not only an excellent opportunity to broaden our current social interaction, it is a strategic imperative for the club. This session will demonstrate the case for action and solicit your input and support to help craft our club’s path forward. Though at present you might not desire or benefit from this form of social interaction, we are building this for the day you might.
The session is a formal presentation of 30 minutes followed by time for questions, answers and discussion. We are running two sessions in an attempt to maximize involvement and accommodate member availability, the first on Wednesday May 10 at 10:00 AM with a repeat session for those that can’t attend on Thursday, May 11 at 7:00 PM. We want your input. We believe that this initiative can provide strategic and lasting value to our membership. You are also encouraged to get the word out to any “inactive”, “active” or “potential new” members of our Toronto North diaspora, all are welcome. Potential new members you think will be interested can either be registered by you or they can contact me at jcstrasser@rogers.com.
We are an extremely interesting group of people with fascinating, varying, life interests and experiences bound together by an incredible and common career history. Furthermore, this commonality does not only apply to our employee members but also to our spousal members. We can draw on this to develop, grow and benefit from that fellowship as we further venture into retirement. We can make it as rewarding as we want; it’s never too late to make new friends out of old acquaintances and past friends.
I hope to see you there.
Please register below. Registration deadline is Sunday May 7, 2022.
This is a free presentation. You can find a document on how to use Zoom here.
