Ken Rowland and Nancy Devlin will take us around the world to visit historically famous World War II battle sites, thoughtful memorials, and their view of the best museums they have visited.

This presentation chronicles Ken and Nancy’s 12-year journey following their family wartime experience. All three of Ken’s uncles were deployed to the European theatre and his mother and her two sisters worked in the Lake View (now Mississauga) Armaments Factory assembling Bren light machine guns and Sten semiautomatic carbines. Nancy’s father was a submariner in the Pacific on the same class of boat that is currently a Pearl Harbor museum piece.

Ken will share their findings, recommend some of the better locations to visit in both Theatres of War along with sites in North America.

The presentation will also mention locations that are quite famous but not particularly worth the effort to travel to as well as recommend some books that are a terrific read.

This is not a travelogue but more an informative reflection on the scope and impact of WWII.

This is a free event but please register to attend. If after registering you find that you are unable to attend, please let the organizer know by sending an email to members@eactn.ca.
